The Family Room (pt 1)
Much like how we were sort of compelled to re-do the laundry room at the same time as the small bathroom (click here to read up on that saga), the family room is attached to the kitchen, therefore it’s gotta be spruced up at the same time.Luckily, it’s a...Gonna rip it up!
Hammers, crowbars, Reciprocating saws, OH MY!Y’know, when you watch one of those home shows and see a goofed up remodeler or high-heeled flipper swinging a sledgehammer on a “never-been-updated” kitchen, it always looks like they are having the time...Holes in the paneling?!!! ACK!
Hanging something on our new wood paneled hallway involves pounding a nail through it. It’s kind of a permanent thing. That’s why all the walls that have new paneling up don’t have anything on them yet. Well, tonight we took the plunge and hammer in...Just let it go……
Okay, so Haley and I were talking about how we can give the atrium more “zip” and I had the stellar (I thought) idea of putting small fountains all around the flower beds, buried in the lava rock. They would be set up to spray water up a foot or so for...THE PROJECT

WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?!
Steve – Writes commercials, plays drums and tennis (often with vintage rackets), and digs MCM style.
Haley – Is an amazing graphic designer and lady-boss, is developing an obsession with travel, puts up with noisy band practices, and also digs MCM style.
Steve was born in SoCal, raised in NorCal and has lived in the Great Pacific Northwest for many many years. Haley was born and raised nearby in NE Portland.
Together they’re attempting the seemingly impossible; to bring this great house back to its MCM Grandeur and raise two nutty kids (who are now adults!) …and not drive each other crazy in the process!
Life is kooky, but always a fun adventure!
