I know I know… there has been nothing new from us in quite a while, but rest assured we haven’t been sitting idol eating chips and fighting over the remote (well, not ALL the time).
The small bathroom is almost finished. The floor looks great, we like the new paint color, the cabinets in the laundry room totally match the vintage vanity we got from a friend, the new paneling in the laundry room matches the hallway perfectly, the tile looks great, as does the new Kovacs light fixture. But there are a few loose ends we’ll be taking care of this week; sealing the tile, sorting out plumbing connections (have you SEEN how many connectors Lowes has?!!), installing the new toilet, re-installing the door, finding & installing a NuTone mirror, applying some kind of opaque privacy film to the window, and of course.. trim (baseboards, door, window, cabinet…).
There have been a few snafus (like the 1/2 inch gap between the countertop and the wall… too wide to be hidden by a backsplash… so we’re waiting for new formica), a few happy surprises (the hinges on the laundry room cabinets are new, yet they match the ones on the vintage vanity perfectly!) and luckily almost everything is working out just like we imagined.
And never fear, dear readers… we have been taking oodles of pictures and are drafting a Before/After post that should be simply riveting. AND as a teaser… we’ve met with a kitchen designer and the remodeled kitchen is going to be awesome!!!! I don’t want to give too much away, but there are birch, glass & orange cabinets involved!!!
I just hate going months between entries, especially when we’ve been busy working.
Stay tuned!
PS I just added these two pics… there will be more.
Ummm, pictures please? I love to see the stages of progress…
Okay. I guess that was mean to not post a pic or two. I just added two.
Wow, your custom tile pattern looks great!
These are fantastic! It’s time to do makeover of your bathroom with the help of modern bathroom vanity cabinets.
We already retro-fitted this one http://greshamrummerfun.blogspot.com/2008/07/cutest-vanity-in-world.html
AND had a cabinet wall built for the laundry room that matches. I better get more pics up soon!
